Our History
Food for the Soul Theology Club started as a small Bible study at the University of San Diego in 2022 with a mission to engage students in intellectual conversations that fostered spiritual growth in the Christian faith. By the grace of God, it grew from four students to the largest religious student organization on campus in less than two years, reaching over 100+ club members from all walks of life and faith backgrounds.
In San Diego, Food for the Soul brought in world renowned Christian apologists, ranging from Greg Koukl to Detective J. Warner Wallace, touching hundred of students' lives with the truth of Gospel each year while building meaningful community.
With the original ministry in San Diego continuing to serve college students, Food for the Soul opened a new club chapter in Seattle, WA in 2026 to teach apologetics to young adults there.

Why "Food for the Soul"?
Food for the Soul's name originates from a two-fold meaning. One is from the free dinners we offer students and young adults, hence why food is central to our ministry's name since we literally feed bellies. The other, most importantly, comes from the understanding that Jesus Christ is the Bread of Life (John 6:35) - He is the true food that feeds our soul and leaves us fully satisfied.

We're the first apologetics ministry founded by young adults for young adults with a desire to understand the depths of Christian theology.
We're intellectually curious
We don't get together to listen to a sermon. We get together to listen to each other. Through thought-provoking questions and engaging discussions, we challenge each other intellectually and spiritually.
We're apologetics-driven
We love free food. Oh, and by the way, Jesus did too. Food brings people of all backgrounds together, and our theological conversations are always enriched by a tasty meal, just like Jesus modeled in Scripture.
We're young adults
After graduating from college, it's hard to meet new people organically and build a community. That's why we're building a genuine community with other 18-35 year olds and welcome everyone into our club.
We're foodies at heart
We go deeper than your average Bible Study. We pursue Truth though historical inquiries, scientific evidence, philosophical arguments, and the exegetical analysis of Scripture. We're not afraid to ask questions!
Our Statement of Faith
Food for the Soul Theology Club is an inter-denominational Christian ministry that upholds the orthodox views of historic Christianity - Christian beliefs that have been affirmed by the first Christians. We seek to present evidence that the Bible is true, and we encourage the unity of the Body of Christ (Christians from the Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholic, and Protestant traditions) to defend universal Christian dogma against the effects that false ideologies are having on the world and the body of believers.
Though we prioritize the pursuit of Truth, we warmly welcome everyone and anyone - regardless of religion - to join us for enrichening conversations.
We believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
begotten from the Father before all ages,
God from God,
Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made;
of the same essence as the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven;
he became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary,
and was made human.
He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered and was buried.
The third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again with glory
to judge the living and the dead.
His kingdom will never end.
And we believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life.
He proceeds from the Father and the Son,
and with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified.
He spoke through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church.
We affirm one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look forward to the resurrection of the dead,
and to life in the world to come. Amen.
